About me

Sophomore at WashU studying CS + Math and Statistics. I enjoy problems that model real-life scenarios, problems where there is often no neat answer, but where structure hides underneath apparent randomness that can come in many forms: Nash equilibria and optimization landscapes, the patterns a model pulls out of high-dimensional noise, or the fair price underlying the movements of a market.

My philosophy in learning is that you should always seek to understand the deep underlying logic behind why something works, not just accept the outcome as a fact to memorize. Whether that's through building a battery from scratch, understanding how computers do arithmetic, or exploring how GTO poker solvers generate their solutions, many of my projects have a shared goal: understanding complex systems by breaking them down into their most basic pieces. I truly believe that nothing is arbitrary if you look closely enough.

When I'm not building, I enjoy lifting weights, running, playing poker and chess, and seeing new places.

    One of 161 high school seniors selected by the U.S. Department of Education for exceptional academic and extracurricular achievement in 2025.

  • AIME Qualifier

    2023, 2024

    One of ~7,000 students nationwide to qualify for the American Invitational Mathematics Examination through the AMC, scoring 6 and 7 on the 2024 and 2025 exams.

  • Illinois Science Olympiad State Medalist

    2024, 2025

    State-tournament medals across events: 5th in Fermi Questions, 5th in Geologic Mapping, and 4th in Wind Power (2024); 3rd in Air Trajectory (2025).

  • ICTM State Math Competition

    2022, 2024, 2025

    Placed at Illinois's top high-school math competition: 11th in 2022 (19/20), 11th in 2024 (19/20), and 7th in 2025 (19/20).

  • Chicago ARML Team Member

    2023, 2025

    Represented Chicago — one of the highest-scoring regions — at the national American Regions Mathematics League competition.
